Scratch Art
Return to Galleries
Scratch Art consists of two types. A scratchboard is a piece of particle board covered with a layer of white clay that is then covered with a layer of black India ink. Scratchpaper is a white piece of paper with a thin layer of plastic that is then covered with a layer of black India ink. Regardless of the type, the black ink is scratched off using primarily an Xacto knife and various other sharp tools. Basically drawing in the negative where the whole point is adding layers of highlights.
